Mashroom Cultivation

In India almost 55% of its population depends on the agriculture & it's related activities for their livelihoods. But contribution to the GDP from the agriculture is around 15% only. So although India cannot be now defined as an agrarian economy in GDP terms, on socio economic front we are still heavily dependent on agriculture. 70% of the population depend on Rural incomes and out of which close to 40% are direct cultivators of land. That is people at large still are mostly engaged in agricultural or related activities. As such people need to know more about various alternative method, techniques, varieties of edible products they can grow to increase their income.

Even it is the only sector where the Women's contribution to the total hours overshadows men.

Thus KMM, in order to help our sisters and brothers working in agriculture sector started with a pilot project in Mushroom cultivation with an aim to further venture in agro-based, organic farming. From training on mushroom cultivation to hands on practical on how to cultivate are imparted to the participants. Even feedback on how they are cultivating and time to time advice and monitoring also aiding them a lot. This is giving them a new hope.

     Skill Development Training Program :

KMM is stepping into the gap, helping to equip young people from the community with its life skills development program. Several courses have been given. Here young people are learning computer skills and spoken English. At our Skill Development Training center various computer courses are taught to the students. This knowledge of skill is also imparted to the pioneers. Providing vocational training for pioneers will create the self-reliant dignified foundation needed for a job. After the end of the course certificate is also given to them so that they can use it for further studies and even they can open up a skill center in their locality.

At present KMM has divided its Skill Training in three segments, i.e. i) Soft Skill Development and Training, ii) Various Skill Program given by both Central and State Govt. (PBSSD, PMKVY) and iii) Agro Based and related Training. Thus not only imparting Spoken English courses and Computer Software courses, KMM took an initiative to offer courses as per the ideals and initiative taken by the govt. to bridge the skill gap.
